New vs Used Cars

Make the right choice:  Before people were scared to purchase a used car as they thought it’s a kind of voluntarily falling into the trap of buying other person’s problem. Since lot of quality cars are off-leased and put for sale, a person gets an opportunity to get hold of a quality used car as they are well maintained and driven single handedly and most of them come with a life time warranty.  So why would one lose a golden opportunity of owning a quality used car?

Saving considerable money:  Many of the vehicles are maintained well and buying a few year old vehicle won’t harm its quality.  You save lot of money due to depreciation value and get a used car for half of its original value.

There are no hidden cost involved in the purchase of used cars:  lot of people end up paying what they are supposed to pay while buying a new car.  The cost of the new car when in the showroom differs from that of the on-the road price, since lot of hidden costs like  transportation charges, sales tax,  pre-delivery  check etc are added to it.  In the case of an used car there is no such thing involved.

Insurance rates are lower for an used car compared to the latest model new car:  The benefit of owning an used car is that you tend to lose less money on insurance bills. If you add up the money it might be huge amount saved at the end of the year.

There is another way of looking at the prospect of buying an used car

Costs more on maintenance:  Lot  of people only see less money as a prospect when buying an used car without anticipating the cost on maintenance and  unseen repairs, in case not maintained properly by the previous owner as no one goes to check a detailed vehicle history report.  This doesn’t happen in the case of leased vehicles, as they are maintained well by a single person periodically.

Choosing between a brand new car and an used car is an art by itself.  A person with a knowledge about cars, getting hold of a off leased used car, who has gone through the car maintenance history report and has less cash in hand, but would like to enjoy owning a branded car of his  choice can very well think of purchasing an used car.  Whereas one who has enough money to spend, who thinks quality comes first to quantity, to get the feeling of sole ownership , one who doesn’t compromise on comfort , having an attitude of happy go lucky type then brand new car is the choice for him.
